  • Sukhasana opens the hips and lengthens the spine.
  • There is not much strain on the knees as in other meditation poses such as siddhasana or padmasana which may be difficult for people with stiff knees.
  • Sukhasana promotes grounded ness and inner calm.
  • It relieves physical and mental exhaustion and tiredness.
  • It intensifies the state of serenity, tranquility, and eliminates anxiety.
  • The below waist body becomes flexible.


This asana should be avoided in case of recent or chronic knee or hip injury or inflammation.
